Community Services Clinical Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Services Clinical Supervisor plays an essential role in supporting the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of clinical services provided by Cottonwood Pathways. This position provides clinical supervision, guidance, and professional development to Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) and Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) staff, promoting appropriate service delivery, sound clinical judgment, professional growth, and adherence to established standards of care. The Clinical Supervisor also provides direct client care through comprehensive clinical assessments and individual therapy sessions, helping ensure clients receive appropriate diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and ongoing therapeutic support. Through a combination of clinical leadership and direct service, the Clinical Supervisor strengthens staff competency, supports quality client outcomes, and promotes ethical, person-centered, and recovery-focused care.

OBJECTIVES

• Provide consistent clinical supervision, guidance, and support to CCSS and CPSW staff. 

• Promote person-centered, recovery-focused, and clinically appropriate services.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, establish appropriate diagnoses, and make recommendations for services and program placement. 

• Provide individual therapy and clinical interventions within the scope of professional licensure. 

• Strengthen staff competency through coaching, education, consultation, and constructive feedback. 

• Support accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation in accordance with agency, payer, and regulatory requirements. 

• Promote professional boundaries, confidentiality, ethical decision-making, and appropriate scope of practice. 

• Identify and address clinical, ethical, documentation, and service-delivery concerns as they arise. 

• Contribute to ongoing improvements in clinical practices, staff development, service quality, and client outcomes.

● Effectively manages competing clinical and supervisory responsibilities while maintaining continued learning and incorporating feedback and best practices into clinical practice. 

● Perform other duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

● Bachelor’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, behavioral health, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution. 

● Must hold a current, unrestricted New Mexico license as a LADAC, LPCC, or LCSW and remain in good standing. 

● Previous experience providing clinical supervision or professional oversight within a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting is required. 

• Clinical Supervisor designation preferred; if not currently designated, must meet all applicable requirements for clinical supervisor designation. 

• Demonstrated experience conducting clinical assessments, establishing diagnoses and service recommendations, and providing individual therapeutic services. 

• Maintains professional licensure and supervisory qualifications through required training, CEUs, and ongoing professional development. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

● Ability to sit at a desk or in session settings for extended periods. 

● Ability to stand for periods of up to three (3) hours as needed. 

● Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g. files, supplies, materials). 

● Frequent walking within the facility and between offices or group rooms. 

● Sufficient hearing and speech to engage in effective communication. 

● Ability to operate standard office equipment and clinical tools (computers, printers, etc.)
